Hi,
My Windows 10 Tech Preview VM was getting a tiny bit bulky (it has a 30GB split disk, not preallocated, assigned, but is almost completely without installed software) so I figured to:
1. Commit the 2 snapshots I had (went from 60GB to 29.7GB) (progress bar worked)
2. Then defragment using the option in the GUI (progress bar worked)
3. Finally compact using the GUI (progress bar not showing ANY progress, does not even begin)
I know it is busy as I see the file dates being touched on the file system and note that the file parts are shrinking in size.
But I suspect that some users might "kill" the process with a non functioning progress bar as it looks like the app isn't doing something.
PS: For the record it compacted fine, including the "done" popup. However the disk size still displayed at 29.7 GB while after close and reopen of that dialog the disk showed the correct size at 20GB.
