Hi everyone,
I have seen several references to this issue but have not seen solution to it.
I am running latest VMWare player 6.0.0.1295980; however, the same issue occurs with the latest version of workstation (10.0.1.1379776).
My host OS is Gentoo Linux installed on a laptop. My guest OS is Windows 8.1, though I tried this with Windows 7 as well. I have the latest available version of tools installed (I checked on the vmware website).
When activated, both mouse and a laptop trackpad for some reason go into scrolling mode. Essentially, whenever I enter mouse in a box, which is scrollable and move mouse a bit, things immediately move down or right.
I can only bypas this issue if I connect a usb-mouse from the VM-menu at the top of the screen (and so disconnect it from host). This is not particularly useful for three reasons:
1. At times, VMWare refuses to disconnect mouse from host because host needs mouse of input (weird since the laptop already has a trackpad). This is not always an issue. So far, I was not able to figure out under what conditions the issue occurs. However, it seems to correlate with whether or not an external monitor is plugged in;
2. I don't always carry a mouse with me;
3. In the unity mode, the entire thing breaks down.
It would be very nice to fix this
Andriy
