When ever I install VMware Tools (Typical or Complete) on the Guest OS, it crashes my host machine. Particularly my monitors lose signal and go in to standby and I have to hard down my machine to recover. I am running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client (Desktop) 6.5 x64 and KDE 4.3.4. The guest OS's I have tried so far are Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 and Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise x64. I have tried uninstall and resinstalling Workstation but did not help. The issue seems to be video related (given the monitors turning off). I have Intel HD 4000 Graphics chip (no nVidia or ATI). At this point I have stopped using Workstation and am using Virtualbox until I can get this resolved.
