VMWare Workstation Eats RAM

Hi

i am using the latest version of VMWare workstation 10.

i have made a vm of server 2008 r2 and installed exchange 2010 on it . now i have assigned 2gb ram to it and when i boot the vm .. and it fully loads then in the taskmanager of vm it is shown that 1.3 GB of memory is used .

and wheareas in the task manager of my host system before firing the VM it shows my  memory usage as 2 GB . now after firing the vm it goes to 4.3 gb ? why

my host is win 7 x64  sp1 .. all latest updates applied.

shouldnt my host show just 2gb+1.3gb = 3.3 gb ? (1.3 gb being the memory shown by the taskmanager of guest machine)

or in worst case my host machine taskmanager should show 2gb (used by host) + 2gb (allocated to guest .. even thoug guest may be using at that time just 1.3gb) = 4gb ?

also does vmware workstation have any feature equivalent to the dynamic memory allocation of hyper-v ?
