How to write-access a mapped volume ?

Hi friends,

I use VMWare workstation 11 under Win7x64pro (in an AD domain), and I have a converted physical machine (WinXP, acutal patchlevel). That virtual machine regulary crashes with a BSOD and to fix that, I need to use write access on that VM without actually running it.

I know that VMWare Workstation could mount a VM's HDD volumes into the host's file system, under Windows as a mapped drive. I did that, and I'm able to get read access. I've unchecked the read-only-checkbox in the mapping untility, so I should have write access to that volume. Unfortunately, when I try to erase a file or write sth. to the the disk, the host asks for admin credentials. I've tried any credentials I have hands on (domain user hwo has admin rights on guest source, guest source local admin, host local admin, ... ) but none seems to be accepted ...

Any hint ?
