[URGENT] VMWare Work Station 11 poor performance issue on Windows 7 host with SSD drive

I have installed VMWare workstation 11 on Windows 7 x64 ultimate OS on a machine with Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, SSD drive, SATA HDD drive, 2 GB VRAM etc.

I have created a 60 GB SATA (I tried SCSI earlier with windows 7 easy install, but the performance was even worse) drive for installing the Guest OS which is again Windows 7 x64 ultimate. I have assigned 1 CPU, 8 cores, 3GB RAM, 1GB VRAM for the guest os. The host OS is installed on the SSD drive which is performing good. The 60GB "vmdk" file is on the same SSD drive which contains the Host windows OS. When I run the guest OS, the guest system seem to hang for 5 -10 secs many times. There are only very few programs like MS Office, Firefox etc on the guest OS. The windows Virtual Memory is disabled on both Host and Guest OS (No Paging  file). Also superfetch service is disabled on both.

I checked the CPU and RAM utilisation on the host OS when the guest os is running and every thing seems to be within acceptable limits with no abnormal peeks.

What could be the issue with poor guest performance? Is it because it is on the same drive as the Host OS? There is a SATA HDD drive connected which has lots of space if moving the VM to another drive or disk would improve performance.

Appreciate any help in this regard. Thanks...
