Any Way to Keep a Non-Shared VM Running When You Sign Out?

Under Workstation 10, running on Windows 8 as the host, shared virtual machines continue to run in the background when you sign out.   Unfortunately, non-shared VMs terminate when you sign out.    This is my number one complaint about Workstation.   Sometimes you have to keep a VM non-shared in order to get added features, like copy and paste from the clipboard and VMWare-based file sharing.   To have to constantly stop and start VMs is a major hassle.    Why can't they just allow us to continue to run the VMs we start in the background when we are signed out of the OS, regardless of whether or not they are shared?

Doe VMware Workstation 11 or 12 (planned features) address this issue?
