Hi Folks,
I have an issue with VMWare Workstation 11, and it's not just version 11, it's also 10 and maybe even
prior versions.
The USB functionality does not appear to work as though it is USB.
Plug in a device, boot the machine to CD/DVD, then tell it to look at USB for the HDD to save to
from the Physical Hard Disk (the vmdk) and it comes back and says that there is no HDD there.
Yet the drive is attached and set up. If it was physical hardware and the drive was plugged in it would
operate perfectly. But in this case it doesn't. No matter the machine or host O/S, it is not working correctly.
Has anyone had this issue or seen this issue or know anyone that has resolved this issue? Hope
someone knows about it and is able to assist with this as I am at my wits end trying to get it to work.
I've tried using USB 1, 2, and 3 settings. I've changed physical ports on the machine. Tried different
external devices and drives and adaptors. All to no avail.
Is this an inherent problem with VMWare Workstation that has not been looked into in many versions?
Or is it an issue that just has not been found before?
Help please?
Sincerely,
DRWhite.
