This problem has existed for a long time now, I think the problem started with kernel 3.X. I create some link in the kernel source directory, linking the new location of version.h file to the old location of that file in the Linux source directory. The problem is with every distribution I have used, I have changed from OpenSuSE to RHEL and Ubuntu. Why has this not been fixed? So if I go..... I am paying for this software so someone else can fix these stupid problems. What is the permanent solution so I do not have to fix these every time I receive an updated kernel. I have the kernel source installed, the kernel headers, and the kernel devel package installed. What am I missing. I have been using workstation for several years. I cannot believe I am the only person having this problem.
