I am using VM Workstation 10.0.2 build-1744117 on a Win7/64 platform.
Using a virtual machine Win 8.1 Pro/64 and Win 8.1 Pro/32 as well I experienced a problem after
connecting a USB-HID device. The device is found and tunneled by VM Workstation,
but the PC application, which communicates to the USB-HID device could not connect
to it.
This happens if a certain delay occurs between attaching the USB device and trying to connect
to it. If the delay is very short (1-2s only) the connection can be established and is stable afterwards.
After several tests I'm convinced, that the Enhanced Power Management of Win 8.1 is responsible.
If I switch this feature off in the registry, the device can be found under every condition.
Cross-checking with a "real" Win 8.1 Installation (no virtual machine) I found out, that this malfunction
only occurs in the virtual machine.
Has anyone seen the same problems?
