I have a Thinkpad X230 laptop with WS9 installed on a Win 7 host.
I am using a programming tool for embedded electronics that connects via USB. When the laptop is plugged into the docking station, the USB connection is passed along to the guest normally...like every other USB device.
When the laptop is not in the docking station, the tool connection is not passed through. I get an error along the lines that the host OS is using the driver. I did re-boot the host and guest OS, with same behavior. I tried installing the USB drivers for the tool on the host OS, with no luck. (and this was not needed with the docking station). When in the docking station, I use a USB port on the laptop itself. When not docked, the tool is connected to the same port, with no luck. Not docked...I tried other USB ports, with no luck.
Any idea what the issue is here? Other things to try?
(I realize this may be a rare combination of connections/equipment/settings, but here's hoping it sparks an idea from someone on the forum...)
