I use Alibre 2012, a parametric 3D CAD program in Windows XP 2002 SP3 with Workstation 10.0.1, build 1379776 and 64 bit Suse Linux 13.1 as the underlying O/S.
My platform uses an AMD Phenom II x6 1055T processor @ 2.6GHz and has 8GB of memory. It is equipped with an Nvidia Quado 600 graphics adapter and is running Nvidias proprietary driver.
I provide 2 processors and 3GB memory for my XP-Alibre session. Trying more memory and processors makes no difference.
Sometimes Alibres drawing/editing window becomes corrupted and drawings look like they are constructed of arrays of characters rather than lines. Sometimes certain features, such as dimensions, will not display. Everything is SLOW, with "pauses" in operability that can span up to 30l seconds after each drawing operation.
Alibre makes extensive use of DirectX and is at least partially written in .NET (ported from Java).
Windows task manager shows an average of 4% capacity for all tasks when Alibre is not being run.
Alibre 2012 executes flawlessly on an older dual core core system that is running XP 2002 SP3 as its base O/S.
These problems did not exist in VMWare WS8.
I'm posting here because VMWares support site won't allow me to open a support topic, even though I've had WS10 for less than year.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
