I am using Workstation 6.5.5 on a Windows 8.1 platform; the guest uses Windows XP. Although I have Local Connectivity on the guest via NAT, I have no connection to the Internet. I have used this software for a number of years now, and every time I set up a guest operating system, I run into the same problem. (Also, I have posted questions to this forum each time, and no one has been able to answer my question.) In the past, I will repeatedly log on to the guest system, and after a week or two, voila! It connects. Don't ask me why. I had a guest system running successfully on this computer until I created a new User Account and deleted the former one. Now, I am back to square one.
The host connects to the Internet via a wireless connection, but that has not created a problem in the past. I don't use the workstation frequently enough to justify upgrading to a newer version. Is the Internet technology associated with this version simply too old? This should not be the case, since it has worked for me in the past.
